Hendersonville, TN Business Licensing & Operations: Tobacco Retail License (2026)

Hendersonville's Zoning Ordinance permits smoke shops only by Conditional Use in the General Commercial (GC) and Heavy Commercial (HC) districts under Chapter 10.3.16.1. They must sit at least 1,000 feet, measured property line to property line along the street, from schools, day cares, youth or community centers, parks, churches, hospitals, and from any other smoke shop or tobacco store. It is unlawful to knowingly let an unaccompanied minor enter or remain on the premises, and each public entrance must post signage stating minors are barred unless with a parent or guardian. Onsite smoking, minor employees making sales, self-service displays, and free or discounted product giveaways are all barred as conditions of the Conditional Use approval.
