Lauderhill, FL Cannabis Regulations: Dispensary Zoning (2026)

Section 5.50(B)(1) of the Land Development Regulations restricts where a medical marijuana dispensing center may locate: dispensing of medical marijuana is permitted only in the CG, Commercial General, and CC, Community Commercial, zoning districts, and only in accordance with the applicable zoning district's other requirements. On-site dispensing is barred entirely for a medical marijuana health care establishment under Section 5.50(A), which instead must meet the medical office standards in Section 5.28.1, so an office that only evaluates and certifies patients cannot also hand out product; only a use classified and sited as a dispensing center under Section 5.50(B) may dispense.

Section 5.50(B)(3) offers a structural path around the separation standards in Section 5.50(B)(2): a dispensing center that sits alone in a freestanding building on its own platted lot, with a minimum 2,500 square feet of floor area, is exempted from the center-to-center and pain-clinic spacing rules even while it must still stay within the CG or CC district and outside the 500-foot school buffer. Section 5.50(B)(6) caps operating hours at 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily, tracking the state hours set in Section 381.986, Florida Statutes.

Before any certificate of use, business license, or building permit can issue, Section 5.50(B)(7) requires the proposed location to conform to every subsection of 5.50(B), and Section 5.50(B)(8) requires the use to comply generally with Section 381.986, Florida Statutes, the state medical marijuana law.
