The City of Moreno Valley has no data-center ordinance and no "data center" use category. Data centers locate in the industrial districts - Business Park, Light Industrial, and Industrial - permitted by right as manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse uses, with a conditional use permit required within 300 feet of homes.

The primary purpose of the industrial (I) district is to provide for manufacturing, research and development, warehousing and distribution and multitenant industrial uses, as well as certain supporting administrative and professional offices and commercial uses on a limited basis.
