Aiken County requires every outdoor light fixture, whether on a pole, building wall, or used for display and decoration, to be a full cutoff luminary with its bulb hidden inside an opaque housing and no glow escaping above the horizontal. Section 24-5.5 of the land management code pairs that shielding mandate with a 20-foot pole cap near roads and a restricted list of approved lamp colors.
