Alachua County bans electronic message centers on freestanding signs along the Interstate 75 corridor entirely. Elsewhere, a permanent freestanding sign's electronic display is capped at 20 percent of the sign face or ten square feet, whichever is smaller, must use a dark background with non-flashing monochromatic lettering, and can change no more than once every five minutes.
