Abandoned Vehicles
Alamance County allows a property owner to keep up to three junked motor vehicles on a parcel if they sit behind the main structure and stay covered with a car cover or secured heavy canvas. UDO § 6.12 lets the county Administrator declare vehicles abandoned, junked or a nuisance and order them towed after notice, with towing and storage fees due before an owner can reclaim one.
