Historic-Cultural Monuments
Collier County's Historic/Archaeological Preservation Board designates sites, structures, districts and buildings as historically or archaeologically significant under County Code Sec. 2-2000.12(d). The seven-member board, created by Ordinance No. 2009-33, maintains the county's Map of Areas of Historical Archaeological Probability and issues certificates of appropriateness before altering a designated resource.

There is hereby created a Historic/Archaeological Preservation Board ("Preservation Board,") which shall serve as an advisory board to the BCC for Collier County, Florida. The Preservation Board is vested with the power, authority, and jurisdiction to designate, regulate, and administer historical and archaeological resources in the County under the direct jurisdiction and control of the BCC. ....
