Recycled Water Rules
Fayette County requires every new conveyor car wash built after November 14, 2019 to install a recycled water system that captures and reuses at least 50 percent of its wash water. Code §§ 28-271 through 28-275 exempt self-service and in-bay automatic car washes, and older conveyor washes built before that date stay grandfathered.
