Before any building in the St. Simons Village Design Review Overlay can be torn down, unincorporated Glynn County requires the Islands Planning Commission to weigh four preservation criteria under § 709.7(h)(6): architectural or historical interest, age and uncommon design for structures 50 years or older, preservation of a historic place, and promotion of American history, culture and heritage.
