Every owner of a dwelling, building, structure or property in unincorporated Hall County must keep it in conformance with applicable codes under § 8.140.020, or it can be declared a public nuisance. The county's public officer can investigate, order repairs or demolition, and ultimately have the property closed or torn down if the owner does not comply.

Vacant or undeveloped lots inside Hall County's Gateway Corridor Overlay District must have grass, weeds or undergrowth trimmed or removed once it tops 12 inches, under the GCOD property maintenance standards, with the County Marshal enforcing through written notice before licenses or permits get withheld.
