Unincorporated Lyon County caps garage sales at no more than five per year for private individuals; anyone holding more must obtain a standard business license from the Lyon County Business License Department. Each sale, including any billed as a lawn, attic, rummage or yard sale, cannot run beyond 72 hours. The rule applies only outside Fernley and Yerington, which regulate garage sales under their own codes.
