Historic-Cultural Monuments
Lyon County's Historical Site Advisory Board, which is the county's Planning Commission acting in that role under Lyon County Code section 3.07.03, must issue a certificate of appropriateness before the exterior of any structure inside the Historical Zoning Overlay District is altered, moved or razed. The Board of County Commissioners designates individual 'historic landmarks' and historic districts on the Advisory Board's recommendation, and hears appeals from a denied certificate.
