Macon-Bibb County requires child day care centers to sit on at least a full acre with a 150-foot-wide lot before the Commission will approve one. Section 23.03.02 of the Land Development Resolution sets 50-foot front, side and rear setbacks (60 feet up front in Agricultural districts), treats parking and service areas as commercial for buffer purposes, and requires a vehicular queuing and drop-off plan.

Code of Ordinances § 6-2(c) adopts the National Green Building Standard only as "an optional, non-mandatory standard for residential dwellings," meaning builders may follow it voluntarily, but the Chief Building Official cannot require it for a residential permit.
