Data Center Noise Limits
Martin County caps sound from any source, including a data center's chillers, cooling fans and generators, by the land use that receives it. Industrial and agricultural receiving parcels are held to 70 dB(A) from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and 65 dB(A) overnight, while residential parcels are held to 60 and 55 dB(A). Readings are taken at the receiving property line.
