Outdoor Burning

St. Tammany Parish bars burning solid waste to dispose of it anywhere in the parish without every required federal, state and local permit, under Code of Ordinances Sec. 38-300. During drought, the parish president can add outdoor burning restrictions parish-wide or ward-by-ward for up to 30 days under Sec. 14-1. Violators face a misdemeanor fine up to $500.00 and up to 30 days in jail.
