Stafford County's Fire Prevention Code amendments require any outdoor, commercial cooking that uses deep fat fryers, woks for deep frying, or similar hot-oil and grease-producing equipment to happen inside a mobile food preparation vehicle with a vented hood and fire suppression system, or inside an approved cooking tent. The rule targets grease fires at fairs, festivals, and vendor events, and the county fire marshal enforces it.
