In unincorporated Whitfield County, an accessory structure built with or after the main house on a lot under three acres zoned single-family residential cannot exceed 1,500 square feet or the house's own footprint, whichever is smaller, and its eave height tops out at 12 feet for one story or 18 feet for two. The Unified Zoning Ordinance sets these caps for sheds, garages, carports and shelters.
