Old Bridge, NJ Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

Old Bridge Township's juvenile curfew is narrower than a general nightly curfew: it applies only during the three nights around Halloween. Township Code Section 114-1, adopted by Ordinance No. 07-05 in 2005, provides that no person under the age of 18 may be on any public street, sidewalk or other public area during three overnight windows: 10:00 p.m. October 29 to 6:00 a.m. October 30; 10:00 p.m. October 30 to 6:00 a.m. October 31; and 10:00 p.m. October 31 to 6:00 a.m. November 1. Chapter 114 contains no separate curfew violation penalty, no age-based exceptions for minors accompanied by a parent, and no exemption for minors traveling to or from work or a school or religious activity, so the ordinance's text applies to any person under 18 out during those windows regardless of purpose.

The Old Bridge Police Department is the agency positioned to enforce a public-street presence restriction of this kind under the Township's general police powers. Because the chapter sets no chapter-specific fine, an enforcement action falls back to the Township's general municipal penalty found at Township Code Section 1-3, which covers any Code violation without its own stated penalty. Parents and minors should note the curfew is dated and location-specific: it does not restrict minors on private property, and it does not apply on any night outside the three listed Halloween-season dates.
