Bensalem, PA Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 156-4 of the Bensalem Township Code lists actions in any Township park or recreation area that are unlawful unless the Bensalem Township Park and Recreation Board or its authorized agent gives written permission first, and clause (5) puts a curfew on the parks themselves: no one may enter or use a park or recreation area between one hour after sundown and one hour before sunrise. The same section also bars operating or parking a motorized vehicle in a park (clause 6) and requires the Board's written authorization before any organized group can use the grounds (clause 3), so the after-dark closure sits alongside the Township's broader control over organized and vehicular park use.

Section 156-3 separately bans building or failing to guard a fire, drinking or possessing intoxicating beverages, gambling, and conduct that annoys other park users at any hour, rules that remain in force during the parks' open daytime hours as well. The Park and Recreation Board, per Section 156-5, exercises general supervision over Township park property and equipment and is the body that issues any written authorization referenced in Section 156-4. Section 156-6 sets the penalty for violating any part of Chapter 156, including the after-dark closure: a fine or penalty of not more than $600.00 per offense plus costs of prosecution, and, if that fine goes unpaid, imprisonment in the Bucks County Prison for up to 30 days.
