La Grange, MO Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 145.470, adopted by Ordinance No. 348 on March 8, 1993, closes all City parks in the City of La Grange to public use between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. every day, without exception for holidays or special dates. The same ordinance closes City cemeteries during identical hours under Section 145.480, so anyone found inside Washington Park, the ball fields, or any other City park property after 11:00 p.m. is in violation regardless of intent. Chapter 145 does not carry its own fine schedule for this Article, so a violation falls under the Code's General Penalty, Section 100.220: a fine of not less than ten dollars and not more than one thousand dollars, up to three months in the City or County Jail, or both, with every day the condition continues charged as a separate offense.

A person who wants legitimate after-hours access, for example a bonfire, tournament, or reunion running past 11:00 p.m., must instead apply for a park extended hours permit under Section 145.490, filed with the Mayor along with a five-dollar processing fee; the Mayor must act within five days, and a denial can be appealed to the City Council within five days of notice. During the annual Appreciation Days event at Washington Park, Section 145.500 adds a separate, stricter restriction: no bicycles, scooters, roller blades, skateboards, or pets are allowed in the park from 12:00 a.m. Thursday until the event ends at 12:00 a.m. Sunday, on top of the standard closing hour.
