Newport Beach Municipal Code Chapter 11.03 establishes operating hours for city parks and recreational facilities. Standard park hours are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily unless individual parks have posted alternative hours. City beaches are closed to public use between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Specific facilities including tennis courts, basketball courts, and playgrounds may have earlier closing times as posted. The Back Bay and Upper Newport Bay ecological preserve areas have separate posted hours that vary seasonally. Beach fire rings on designated beaches such as Corona del Mar State Beach and the Balboa Peninsula must have fires extinguished by midnight.
