Tamarac, FL Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 15-89(a) of the Code of Ordinances sets the default operating hours for every City of Tamarac park: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. or sundown, whichever occurs first, seven days a week, all year. The parks and recreation director can extend or shorten these hours for any individual park or any part of one. No one may enter, be present in, or remain in a park once it closes for the night unless that person already holds a permit under the division 3 permit rules in §§ 15-61 through 15-65.

The director can also close any section of a park at any time, temporarily or on a recurring schedule, for particular uses when reasonably necessary, under § 15-89(b), and can adopt further reasonable rules to manage and preserve park property under § 15-89(c). A person caught violating any provision of the parks chapter, including the after-hours entry rule, can be ejected from the park, arrested by a law enforcement officer, or both, under § 15-89(e). Enforcement runs through Broward Sheriff's Office deputies under contract to the city, city code enforcement officers, or other city-designated employees, per § 15-91(b) and (c).

Section 15-91(d) sets escalating fines of up to $250 per day for a first violation and $500 per day for each additional occurrence, with the code enforcement board or special magistrate authorized to impose civil fines as high as $1,000 per day for a first offense, $5,000 per day for a repeat offense, and up to $15,000 for an irreparable or irreversible violation.
