Chapter 100, Public Parks and Recreation, opens with the hours-of-operation rule at § 100.01. Subsection (A) gives the City Manager authority to designate each park's hours, requires those hours to be clearly posted at the facility, and lets the City Manager extend or shorten them for any park or any part of a park. The subsection adds a specific after-dark trigger for lighted parks: a Public Park that stays open past sunset because it has lighted facilities remains open only while those lights are illuminated, and once the lights go out, the facility is considered closed even without a separate posted closing time.

The operative prohibition follows directly: no Person may enter or remain in any Public Park after Public Park closing hours without authorization by the City Manager. Subsection (B) gives the City Manager a second, broader tool: any Public Park or Recreational Facility, or any portion of one, can be closed to the public at any time and for any interval, independent of the regular posted hours, which covers situations like storm damage, special events, or maintenance. Because Weston's park system spans neighborhood parks throughout Bonaventure, Town Center, and other HOA-adjacent areas, the posted-hours approach lets the City tailor closing times facility by facility rather than applying one citywide curfew.

A person found in a park after hours without authorization is subject to the general penalty in § 2.99, since Chapter 100 does not set its own separate fine, meaning a fine of up to $1,000 per violation for a first offense under the Code's default penalty provision, with imprisonment up to 60 days possible as an alternative or additional remedy.
