Yuma, AZ Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 170-02 sets a single default curfew for every park the city owns, leases or operates for public recreation, including the parking areas attached to them: closed from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, seven days a week. The city can post different hours at an individual park, and it can also modify the curfew citywide, or for one park, to run an event or program the city sponsors, sanctions or permits, so a scheduled evening concert or festival can lawfully keep a park open past 9:00 PM.

The curfew sits inside Chapter 170, alongside other park rules the ordinance treats as a package: alcohol is banned in parks unless the Parks and Recreation Department issues a permit under § 170-03, glass containers are banned outright under § 170-04, swimming or bathing in park lakes and ponds is banned under § 170-05(A), and inoperable or unregistered vehicles cannot be parked in a park or its adjoining lot under § 170-06(A). All of these share the same enforcement backstop: § 170-99 makes any violation of Chapter 170, including being present in a park after hours, a class 2 misdemeanor punished as provided in § 10-99 of the code.
