Cedar Hill Code of Ordinances Chapter 4, Article XIV, Section 4-302 regulates fence heights. Maximum fence height behind the front yard building line is 8 feet. Front yard fences are generally prohibited; decorative fences with openings of at least 50% of fence area and not exceeding 3 feet in height are permitted. Chain link and woven wire mesh do not qualify as decorative. Rural residential, SF-Estate platted lots, and lots over 1 acre may extend fences to the front property line. Corner lots may extend fence to the property line where side/rear building lines adjoin. Per Section 4-301, no fence may be out of vertical alignment more than 25 degrees, and repairs are required within 10 days of notice.
