Grand Prairie limits residential fence heights based on location. Front yard fences are limited to 4 feet. Side and rear yard fences may be up to 8 feet tall. Corner lots must maintain visibility triangles for traffic safety.
Fences in front yards cannot exceed 4 feet in height. Side and rear yard fences have a maximum of 8 feet. On corner lots, fences within the visibility triangle at intersections must not exceed 3 feet. Retaining walls topped with fences combine both heights toward the maximum. The zoning ordinance specifies measurement from grade on the higher side of the fence.
Non-permitted fence: code violation. Over-height: removal or modification required.
