Lima caps fences at three feet six inches in the front yard and at six feet on side and rear property lines under Codified Ordinance 1262.02. Corner-lot sight-triangle fences are also limited to three feet six inches.
Section 1262.02 of Lima's Planning and Zoning Code sets fence heights by yard. In any front yard, or in the side yard between the front of the building foundation nearest the street and the front property line, no fence may exceed three feet six inches above finished grade. A fence on a side or rear property line may reach six feet above finished grade. On corner lots, no fence taller than three feet six inches above street grade may run in both directions from the intersection. The City Engineer may order any fence lowered or removed if it obstructs traffic vision.
Enforced by the City Engineer and Zoning; a non-conforming or vision-obstructing fence may be ordered lowered, altered or removed, with zoning citations under Chapter 1242.
