The City of Sunrise Building Division issues a permit for all new and replacement fences; simple fence permits clear in about two days and can be submitted directly to Building without Planning review. Masonry and concrete walls need engineered plans. Utility and canal easements restrict placement — a fence in an easement risks removal when maintenance is needed (Sec. 16-191(d)(5)).
