Bartow County, GA Filming & Production: Student Filming (2026)

Bartow County Code §44-704 lists film production activities exempt from the general permit requirement in §44-702: productions by news media; personal or family videos such as weddings; filming inside a movie studio; student film productions; low-impact productions defined as ten or fewer crew members working three or fewer days entirely on private property; and any other activity the county administrator chooses to exempt. The exemption is not absolute: §44-704 carves it back so that if any exempt production, including a student production, wants to use a county facility or building, or wants to block or interfere with a county street, property or right-of-way, the full Film Permit Ordinance applies and the crew must obtain a permit under §44-702 before shooting.
