160(1)(a) sets the default rule: no trees or vegetation can come out of a CH Zone lot outside the approved Limits of Disturbance (LOD) unless the chapter specifically allows it. Subsection (1)(e)(ii) is one of those allowances: an applicant may selectively and in a limited way remove trees or vegetation to protect structures from fire, so long as the removal is consistent with the Utah Wildland-Urban Interface Code, alongside similar exceptions for driveway or intersection sight lines, utility installation, and authorized survey work. That fire-related clearance still has to be documented.

160(3)(b)(viii) requires the revegetation, tree reestablishment, and land reclamation plan to include a note detailing compliance with the WUI Code's Vegetation Clearance Guidelines and confirming every new tree planted is on the Utah Fire Resistive Species list. 160(2)(a) normally requires a 'significant tree' (six-inch caliper or larger, a grove of five or more smaller trees, or an oak or maple clump over fifty square feet) removed from inside the LOD to be replaced two-for-one, but that replacement duty applies only when the removal is 'not required by WUI standards,' meaning fire-driven brush and tree clearance mandated by the state WUI Code does not trigger the replacement penalty.
