Satellite Beach, FL Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Food Truck Permits (2026)

Sec. 30-560 of the Satellite Beach City Code regulates every food truck operating in the city. Only trucks permitted by the State of Florida as a self-sufficient mobile food dispensing vehicle may operate here at all, and the owner, operator or licensee must obtain all required state and local permits, business licenses and business tax receipts before opening. Those documents, including the business tax receipt issued under Chapter 58, Article 3, must be held, maintained and visibly displayed in or on the truck for as long as it operates, so an inspector or Satellite Beach Police Department officer can confirm compliance on sight.

The truck must also carry the property owner's written permission to operate on that site and produce it to city staff on request. nightly unless the property owner also owns the truck. City Council can temporarily modify or suspend most of these requirements for a food truck operating under a special event permit, but the exemption never reaches the state permitting requirement for self-sufficient mobile food dispensing vehicles. No specific fine is written into § 30-560 itself, so a violation falls to the Code's general penalty in § 1-13: up to $500 and 60 days in jail, with each day of noncompliance a separate offense.
