Inglewood, CA Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Sidewalk & Mobile Vending (2026)

Article 13 of Chapter 8, the Sidewalk Vendor Program, governs every person selling food or merchandise from a pushcart, stand, or nonmotorized conveyance on an Inglewood public sidewalk. Every vendor must first obtain a sidewalk vendor permit from the Permits and Licenses Committee under Section 8-163, following the application and fee procedures in Chapter 8, Article 3, and must provide a copy of any separate license required for the goods sold, such as a health permit for food. Section 8-164 sets the operating rules. m.

m. Vendors cannot reduce a sidewalk below the accessibility width required by federal and state disability law, cannot block entrances, driveways, hydrants, crosswalks, transit stops, or loading zones, and must stay at least ten feet from driveways, hydrants, crosswalks, transit stops, and loading zones. Section 8-164(6) adds a one-hundred-foot buffer around police stations, K-12 schools, places of worship, hospitals, courthouses, jails, fire stations, cemeteries, and facilities protected under Penal Code Section 554, enforced only during those facilities' operating hours. Stationary vendors must also supply a trash receptacle and keep a ten-foot radius litter-free, and no vendor may sell to a customer in a vehicle that is not lawfully parked.
