Conway, AR Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

Section 4.85.05 of the Conway Municipal Code sets location and hours limits specifically for mobile ice cream vendors. A truck can vend in one spot for no more than 15 minutes before it has to move to another location, and it cannot vend within 100 feet of an intersection. Vending inside any City of Conway park is prohibited unless the vendor has applied for and received a franchise permit for that activity. Near schools, a truck cannot vend within one block of any block containing an elementary or junior high school during school hours, or within one hour before or after the school day on a day school is in session.

Hours of operation run from 10:00 a.m. to one half hour before sunset, and the same window governs sound equipment: music or human speech only, not audible more than 100 yards from the truck, off while the truck is stopped to make a sale, and never within 100 yards of a school during school hours or within 100 yards of a hospital, church, courthouse, funeral home or cemetery. Health and safety rules round out the section: vendors must comply with state, county and federal food-handling regulations and display any required permits, drivers must check around the vehicle before pulling away to make sure no child remains near it, and child customers cannot be allowed inside the vehicle except a driver's own relatives riding along.
