Casa Grande's home occupation rules treat signage as one of the strictest limits in § 17.68.195, the section that sets the terms and conditions a home-based business must meet to keep its permit. Subsection (A)(8) caps signage at a single wall sign with a maximum size of two square feet, ruling out freestanding or monument signs, illuminated signs, window signs, or any second sign advertising the business from the property. That is a far tighter allowance than the sign standards for a commercially zoned business or even for a bed and breakfast conditional use, which under § 17.68.120(D)(8)(e) can have one detached, wall-mounted or low-profile monument sign up to six square feet and three feet tall; the small two-square-foot cap for home occupations reflects the intent, stated in § 17.68.180, that a home occupation have no significant adverse impact on the residential character of the neighborhood.

The sign condition applies on top of the home occupation permit required by § 17.68.190, so the Planning and Development Director reviewing a permit application checks the proposed sign against the two-square-foot, single-wall-sign limit before approval, and can order the home occupation terminated under § 17.68.205 if an operator later posts a larger or additional sign and a citizen complaint brings it to the city's attention.
