Casa Grande, AZ Parking Rules: Driveway Rules (2026)

Casa Grande's small-residential parking article sets specific numeric limits on driveways in § 17.56.130. Width must exceed twelve feet but not exceed thirty-six feet, subject to exceptions the City Traffic Engineer can approve under subsection D. Subsection E caps how much of the front yard a driveway and any other paved parking area can cover: no more than fifty percent of the area designated as the front-yard setback, and subsection J applies the same fifty-percent cap, plus a 24-foot width limit at the property line and 20-foot separation between access points, to circular drives serving single-family homes.

Surfacing is limited to asphalt, concrete, pavers, crushed rock or other dust-free aggregate (capped at forty percent of the parking area), or another hard, dust-free surface the Director approves under subsection F; subsection G makes clear that vehicles may only park on areas surfaced to this standard. A lower-standard exception exists for low-volume access serving RV gates or similar points, which subsection H allows to be crushed rock or similar dust-free surfaces without the forty-percent cap. Grade is also regulated: subsection I limits any driveway or parking area to a three-percent grade. Only one access point per dwelling unit is normally allowed under subsection B(1), with exceptions for circular drives or director-approved secondary access.
