Casa Grande, AZ Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Section 10.08.160 makes it unlawful to stand or park a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating in excess of 12,000 pounds on a street in a residentially zoned area of the City of Casa Grande. The restriction applies specifically to on-street parking, not to parking in a private driveway or yard. Four exceptions apply: subsection A lets delivery or service vehicles park or stop briefly to load, unload or perform the service; subsection B lets a vehicle owned by a resident of that area park for loading/unloading or any other lawful purpose for up to two hours; subsection C exempts emergency vehicles responding to a call; and subsection D exempts vehicles specifically permitted to park under state law.

A related provision, Section 10.08.170, separately restricts trucks over seven thousand pounds empty weight from streets the council designates by ordinance, though it allows deliveries, loading and unloading on any city street, and a violation is a Class 2 misdemeanor. Enforcement of Section 10.08.160 falls to the Casa Grande Police Department, and Section 10.08.300 lets code enforcement officers enforce parking violations by seeking voluntary compliance, issuing notices of violation, or filing civil complaints. Because the registered owner is presumed responsible for a parking violation under Section 10.04.075, a citation typically goes to whoever the truck, bus or tractor is registered to.
