Casa Grande, AZ Fire Regulations: Propane Storage (2026)

Section 17.24.120 of the Casa Grande Municipal Code sets out the conditionally permitted uses in the General Business (B-2) Zone, and item N places liquefied petroleum gas storage and dispensing on that list. Unlike several other B-2 conditional uses on the same list, item N carries no cross-reference to the § 17.68.120(D) mandatory-condition list, so the Planning Commission reviews it under the general conditional use criteria in § 17.68.120(A): site adequacy, adequate street access, no significant adverse impact on abutting property, and conformance with the General Plan and zoning code.

Table 17.16.030B in Chapter 17.16 shows the same activity, described there as liquefied petroleum gas storage and similar storage areas, is instead principally permitted, without a conditional use hearing, in the B-4, I-1 and I-2 zones, pursuant to uniform building and fire codes as adopted. That cross-reference ties LP-gas storage to the International Fire Code, 2018 Edition, and the City of Casa Grande Amendments to it, adopted by § 8.16.010 and Resolution No. 5170. Any conditional use permit granted for LP-gas storage in the B-2 Zone is recorded with the Pinal County Recorder's Office as a condition running with the land.
