LDC §14-6-7(A)(3) prohibits any sign advertising a standard home occupation on residential premises. §14-6-7(A)(11) also prohibits including the home address in any advertisement, including online directories, social media, or print media.
Kissimmee takes a strict approach to home-business visibility. Not only are physical signs banned, but the residential address itself cannot appear in any advertising including 'commercial telephone directories, newspapers, magazines, signs, flyers, radio, television, or other media' per §14-6-7(A)(11). This is unusual compared to most Florida cities. The intent is to prevent residential streets from becoming commercial corridors and to discourage walk-in customers. Permitted residential signs under LDC §14-11-4 are limited to name signs (1 sq ft max), no-trespassing/public hazard signs, and similar non-commercial signs — none can mention a business.
Sec. 1-22(b)(7) — $150 sign violation. Repeated violations can lead to BTR revocation per §14-6-7(A)(13).
