Under Section 18-4-1-411(A), a Lawton home occupation must be conducted entirely inside the main dwelling or a pre-existing accessory building that has stood for at least one year before the application is filed, so a shed built specifically to house the business does not qualify. Subsection B limits staffing to household members living on-site plus one additional non-resident employee. Subsections C and D require that merchandise, materials and equipment stay out of view from the street or neighboring property and that no external alteration make the home look less residential.

Subsection E bars equipment that changes the fire rating or creates vibration, glare, fumes, odor or electrical interference detectable off the property, including anything that disrupts a neighbor's radio or TV reception. Subsection I caps the occupation's footprint at 25% of the dwelling's livable area. Subsection K lists uses flatly prohibited as home occupations regardless of scale, including auto repair, metal or carpentry shops, painting of vehicles or equipment, restaurants, rest or convalescent homes, animal hospitals, kennels or pet grooming, funeral homes, contractor's yards, offices with two or more off-site employees, massage parlors, tanning salons, and bed-and-breakfast establishments. Subsection M clarifies that a city home occupation registration does not override plat restrictions filed with the Comanche County Clerk.
