Trees, shrubs, and other vegetation on private property shall be maintained to allow 8 feet of clearance over sidewalks and 14 feet of clearance over streets. Shrubs and other vegetation adjacent to intersections shall be maintained to allow for adequate sight distance within the sight triangle and shall not exceed 30 inches in height.

City Code § 3:14 requires trees, shrubs, and other vegetation on private property to be maintained with 8 feet of clearance over sidewalks and 14 feet of clearance over streets. Vegetation near intersections must also be kept low enough for adequate sight distance within the sight triangle, capped at 30 inches in height. Property that fell out of compliance when the section took effect had 90 days to correct it, and the City Administrator can have the work done and bill the owner if it isn't done.
