Full Breakdown

Chapter 119 (Brush, Hedges and Invasive Plants) governs sight-line trimming along roads. The owner or tenant must keep such growth cut to a height of not more than 2 1/2 feet within 10 feet of any roadway and within 25 feet of a roadway intersection, as determined by the Road Foreman. If the owner does not comply within 10 days of written notice, the Township cuts it and charges the cost. This is separate from tree-removal permits, which fall under Chapter 233.

Violations & Fines

Fine of not less than $500 and not more than $2,000, imprisonment up to 90 days, or community service up to 90 days; the Township may also cut the growth and assess costs.
