The Township has been designated a Tree City USA for 33 consecutive years. Tree trimming and maintenance along public rights-of-way is coordinated by the Shade Tree Commission and Township Forester. Property owners are responsible for maintaining trees on their property so they do not create hazardous conditions. The Woodlands Management Ordinance adopted in 2005 prevents clear cutting and requires Tree Management Plans for development applications.
