Ridgewood Water enforces odd or even address watering days with strict timing rules for sprinklers, hoses, and automatic irrigation systems on all customers.
Chapter 269, Article IV sets the irrigation schedule and water emergency rules for Ridgewood Water customers. Odd-numbered addresses may water on Tuesdays and Saturdays only, even-numbered addresses on Wednesdays and Sundays only, and municipal properties on Mondays and Fridays. Handheld hoses and drip irrigation may operate any allowed day before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m. Automatic in-ground sprinkler systems may run only between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. Newly seeded or sodded lawns are exempt for the first 21 consecutive days of establishment, and chemical application requiring immediate watering is also exempt.
Up to $2,000 per violation per individual block under Chapter 269 enforcement.
