Olathe Municipal Code § 6.09.040 defines 'Excessive Growth' as any vegetation, weeds, grass, or uncultivated plants, that stands more than eight inches tall on a developed (improved) parcel or more than twelve inches on an undeveloped one, measured above ground or along the stem if matted down. Section 6.09.050 then makes that growth unlawful anywhere on the lot, including the strip between the property line and the street curb or alley centerline. A Development Services officer can order it cut, and if the owner misses the notice period the City mows it and bills the cost, with repeat offenders facing higher municipal court fines.
