Table 4.0-3, the Urban Commercial Street and Sidewalk Standards that apply along Commercial Mixed Use 3 (CMU-3) frontage and NW Monroe Avenue between 14th and 26th Street, sets a standard bike lane width of six feet on Arterial Highway, Arterial and Collector streets, built into the improved right-of-way alongside travel lanes and tree-well sidewalks. A footnote to that table lets the City approve an absolute minimum of five feet only where existing development along a substandard route, or another severe physical constraint, makes the standard width impossible, and one-way streets need only a single bike lane rather than one per direction.

Corvallis Municipal Code Section 4.01.060 backs up the network by requiring curbside solid-waste receptacles to sit within three feet of the curb without restricting access to bicycle lanes or sidewalks, and it bars other items from crowding a bin within three feet on either side; receptacles may only be set out for the 24 hours before and after the franchised hauler's scheduled pickup. On the question of who may ride in a Corvallis bike lane, Corvallis Municipal Code Section 8.12.340 bars licensed pedicabs from every City sidewalk at all times but expressly permits them on multi-purpose paths and bike lanes, keeping wheeled passenger transit inside the cycling network rather than competing with pedestrians.
