Lake Havasu City, AZ Mobility & Curb Rules: Bike Lane Rules (2026)

Under § 10.08.200.B, anyone operating a bicycle, electric bicycle, or other human- or non-human-powered device on a public roadway in Lake Havasu City must obey traffic-control signals and signs, signal turning movements, and yield the right-of-way to other users when a sidewalk, bicycle path, bicycle lane, or multi-use path crosses the roadway. Subsection B.2 specifically directs riders to stay as close as practicable to the right-hand curb, the edge of the roadway, or the edge of a designated bicycle path or lane. Subsection B.6 prohibits riding in any direction except that permitted by vehicular traffic on the roadway, with a carved-out exception where signs or pavement markings on a bikeway or bicycle lane designate two-way travel, so wrong-way riding in a marked lane is unlawful unless the lane is signed for it.

Riders also get full rights and duties of vehicle drivers under state and city traffic law by subsection B.7, and must not exceed the posted speed limit or ride faster than is reasonable for conditions. Riders under 16 must wear a protective helmet on any public roadway per subsection B.8. Subsection D lets the City Council post additional regulatory signage for bikeways that riders must obey. Lake Havasu City Police Department enforces the section, with cases going before the city court.
