Lake Havasu City, AZ Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Under § 10.12.080, the Operations Director or a designee may erect signs or paint curbs to create restricted parking, including loading zones, and no restriction takes effect until the signs are erected or the curb is painted. Once in place, it is unlawful for anyone to stop or stand a vehicle in disobedience to the marking. Subsection (B) assigns curb colors under the Uniform Traffic Control Manual: a red curb bars parking, standing or stopping entirely; a yellow curb is reserved for loading or unloading cargo or material only; a green curb allows parking for the limited time indicated; and a blue curb is reserved for disabled parking with a valid placard or plate.

The Operations Director's separate authority under § 10.08.060(C) to designate and mark loading zones, alongside no-parking, limited-parking, taxicab and disabled zones, means a marked loading zone is exempt from the general Title 14 parking rules while used for its intended purpose. Even without a marked zone, § 10.12.040(C)(2) already lets a vehicle stop in front of a driveway specifically to load or unload materials, an exception to the general rule against stopping in front of driveways. Together these sections give Lake Havasu City a working commercial-loading system: designate the zone, paint or sign it yellow, and it is reserved for loading and unloading rather than general parking.
