Lake Havasu City, AZ Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 10.12.010 requires every vehicle stopped or parked on a roadway with adjacent curbs to park with its right-hand wheels parallel to and within 18 inches of the right-hand curb, which is what makes parking against the flow of traffic, on the wrong side of a two-way street, a violation. Section 10.12.020 carves out the exception for marked one-way streets, where a vehicle may park on the left side with its left wheels within 18 inches of the left-hand curb if not otherwise prohibited. Section 10.12.040.C then lists specific places where no one may stop, stand or park except to avoid a traffic conflict or on an officer's direction: on a sidewalk, in front of a public or private driveway (except for loading or unloading), within an intersection or crosswalk, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, within 30 feet of a stop sign or signal, and on the roadway side of another parked vehicle, among others in the twelve remaining paragraphs.

Subsection A of 10.12.040 additionally requires drivers who must stop outside a business or residence district to leave an unobstructed lane and a 200-foot clear sightline. Lake Havasu City Police Department issues citations under this chapter.
