Hudson's noise ordinance builds in a list of exclusions and exemptions in § 249-5 rather than trying to regulate every sound source with the same numeric limits used for construction, trucks or industrial receptors. " That single sentence is the entirety of Hudson's aircraft-noise treatment; there is no separate flight-path, curfew, or decibel standard for planes or helicopters anywhere else in the Town Code. The drafting reflects the well-established federal occupation of aviation noise regulation, so the Board of Selectmen chose to exempt flight operations rather than write a rule that would conflict with federal law.

The same subsection exempts several other categories alongside aircraft: emergency vehicles performing their duties, domestic power equipment run during set daytime hours, snow removal equipment, permitted recreational activities such as parades or sporting events, and blasting conducted under a separate town blasting ordinance. None of Hudson's other chapters, including Zoning (Ch. 334) or Wireless Telecommunication siting rules, impose an aircraft noise standard either; airport-adjacent noise concerns in Hudson would have to be raised with the FAA or through Nashua Airport's own federally regulated procedures rather than through a Hudson ordinance.
