Hudson, NH Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Chapter 317, Article II defines 'commercial truck traffic' as any vehicle of 1½ tons or heavier engaged in business, for profit or not, and separately defines 'heavy vehicle' by cross-reference to RSA 259:1's highway building equipment, motor truck, heavy truck, tractor-trailer, semi-trailer and transporter categories (§ 317-13A). without a special permit, except on Route 111, Route 102, Route 3A and West Road, which stay open to through commercial traffic at all hours. An owner who needs to run heavier trucks overnight elsewhere in Town can apply in writing to the Board of Selectmen for a per-vehicle permit, stating the reason and paying the application fee set in Chapter 205, Fees; the permit must be carried by the driver, is valid for one year, is renewable, and a copy has to be filed with the Hudson Police Department (§ 317-13C).

Farm and agricultural trucks are exempt from the restriction outright, as are emergency vehicles engaged in snowplowing, fire calls or rescue calls (§ 317-13D). Through truck traffic entering Town on Route 111, 102, 3A, Kimball Hill Road, Dracut Road or the Sagamore Point Bridge must stay on those routes while passing through Hudson (§ 317-13E), and specific streets can carry their own size or weight caps listed in Schedule VII, where operating an oversized or overweight truck against the posted limit is separately unlawful (§ 317-13F).
